July 3rd, 2019 – GreenerSites Final Conference in Rijeka, Croatia

On July 3rd, 2019 in Rijeka, Croatia the GreenerSites Final Conference took place. The event was organized by Interreg Central Europe and it aimed to summarize projects of brownfield sites remediation co-financed from EU funds. Polish municipalities that participated in the conference were the city of Bydgoszcz and the city of Solec Kujawski.
During the event Mrs. Hanna Lewandowska of the City of Bydgoszcz presented information on creating a system to monitor contaminated soil and ground water as well as their influence on inhabited areas located in the vicinity of the former chemical factory „Zachem”, taking into account particular activities carried out within the GreenerSites project.
Mr. Wojciech Irmiński, Ph.D. presented elements of creating a system to diagnose ground water contamination and the directions of further remediation of the former railway sleeper factory area, based on in-situ technologies such as liquid active carbon.
The conference was attended by representatives of the PROTE company, that carried out remediation of the former railway sleeper factory in Solec Kujawski and that is an exclusive distributor of REGENESIS products in Poland: Jerry Slusarczyk – President of the Supervisory Board, Pawel Samelak – Board Member and Michal Tatera – Specialist on Product Research and Development.
