PROTE’s contribution to strengthening of diplomatic and business relations with Senegal

On December 19-20, 2019 PROTE company participated in an expert seminar, organized by OECD in cooperation with the Polish Embassy in Dakar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, on  water safety and challenges related to water and wastewater management in Senegal. The event was a follow-up to the Water Technologies Forum, which took place on October 30, 2019 in the seat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Warsaw, in which representatives of Senegalese Government participated. PROTE presented its technologies then: the SYMBIO Biomonitoring System, the comprehensive service of water pipeline system cleaning with the use of SeaQuest, the Minimization/Modification of Sludge Technology, the Processing of Sludge Technology and the PROTE-fos lakes reclamation technology. PROTE’s solutions presented at the seminar attracted interest from the foreign visitors, who expressed their willingness and need to implement these solutions in their country.  
Both during the meeting in Warsaw and in Dakar, the PROTE company was represented by its President of the Supervisory Board – Mr. Jerzy Slusarczyk and Proffessor Jean Diatta of the University of Life Sciences in Poznan, with whom PROTE cooperates on a daily basis. The head of delegation of the Senegalese government during the forum in Warsaw was the Minister of Water and Sanitation – Mr. Serigne Mbaye Thiam. It was him, who opened also the seminar in Dakar and presided over the above mentioned event. The seminar in Dakar was an excelent opportunity for a meeting of representatives of the governments of both countries, as well as people from the world of science and business, and it gave a chance to present Polish solutions in the field of environmental protection as well as water and wastewater management ready to be implemented in Senegal.

Within their participation in the seminar in Senegal, both PROTE and the University of Life Sciences had their lectures, Professor Jean Diatta in the session titled „Options of scientific cooperation”, and Mr. Jerzy Slusarczyk in the session „Options of technical and technological cooperation”. During the event the PROTE company presented its technologies through an audio-visual presentation within its corporate stand. The PROTE company was also asked to make a site visit to the local wastewater treatment plant - D’Epuration des Eaux Usees – Camberene in Dakar in order to assess the potential and possibility to implement the PROTE-MOS Minimization/Modification of Sludge Technology.  

The information about this important for the Republic of Senegal meeting between the diplomats, scientists and practitioners from both countries received wide media coverage.
